A Most Excellent Concentrated Perfume Oil
This is a great perfume that's blended well. No it's not the highest quality from Ajmal but if you enjoy a solid oud then Fatinah is for you. I will say with confidence that this blend is pretty much base notes and that's it. Fatinah is Ajmal's signature base accords that primarily consist of oud, musk and amber. Those are the notes. Oud, musk and amber. Nothing more, nothing less. A lot of websites list vanilla, jasmine and roses. This couldn't be further from the truth. Fatinah is all about a deep and woody oud, sultry black musk (not white musk) and resinous amber, that's it. This attar is very well composed and would be the epitome of your typical Arabian aroma. It's an incredibly serene and peaceful blend that invokes feelings of mediation and calmness. Of course oud is always considered as unisex but Fatinah definitely rings masculine. To be honest there isn't anything feminine about this as there's not a flower in sight. I'm confused to as why websites list this as for women. Maybe because the oud isn't super heavy? On the high upside, the bottle I received from FragranceX was manufactured in 2017. This is a good thing because this bottle is very potent. Sadly Ajmal has done a lot of reformulations to their line beginning in 2020 which I'm certain a fresh bottle of Fatinah nowadays in 2024 would be quite weak so I'm pleased beyond recognition.
