During the century following its founding, Mauboussin became well known for its unique, artistic jewelry designs and now is best known for its stunning Art Deco era creations. During the 1920s, the jewelry entered a number of exhibitions and in 1925, won the prestigious Gold award at the Exposition des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. A really nice feminine fragrance, too bad I'm a guy.
I am a guy, cannot see this fragrance as a feminine that a guy could wear. It was a great addition to my fragrance collection though. I wrote in 'Best Uses' that it would be OK for special occasions; I would include in that, a woman using it on cold wintry days, as it is a lovely and warm fragrance. Lighter and brighter as it evolves towards the dry down.

I love this perfume and cannot seem to find it anywhere other than at FragranceX. so happy that you carry it. I always receive compliments when I wear it which is all fall/winter from about November through April. Maybe I should wear it all year around.

A new favorite
I love this perfume. It has almost an oriental aura to it. Each note is lovelier than the previous one. Hard to define it with one word......maybe complex? All I know is that it lasts on me and it's beautiful.

Rich and warm but the bottle lets it down.
International delivery times for my purchase were AMAZING. I live in regional Australia and i had it in my hands in about 5 working days. I have put the perfume in the fridge until Autumn as i find it a bit overpowering and not quite right for Oz summer weather.It is a rich and warm and enveloping perfume so I look forward to using it in the cooler weather. The spray section of the bottle however is very clunky and I find it difficult to use as it clicks and spurts rather than providing a nice even mist. Perhaps the manufactures could look at that issue as it really has put me off.

I would not buy this perfum again from this company.
The 'perfume ' is too dark.the spray makes a loud click sound,like a child's toy. The original is light in colour and silent. I have used this perfume for years and know it well. It should hold all day....but this one doesn't. I do not recommend this to anyone,sadly.

It never fails to get complements, every time I wear it people ask what I am wearing. I just love that it lasts so long. I also love that people in Australia really haven't heard too much about it, so not every second person is wearing it. I hate it when everybody Is wearing the same fragrance. I have recommended this fragrance to some close friends and they also love it.I wear my mauboussin to work and also I wear it of an evening when going out, it suits all Occassion. elegant winter perfume
for Mauboussin, it feels like Christine Nagel chose only materials that were just past ripe but not quite rotten. the peaches, plums, and mandarin oranges seem to have been laid on a radiator for a few days to stew. the roses, jasmine, and ylang ylang were left to decay into potpourri and sugar. all of the sharp, dank smell of the wood and incense mellowed away. Only the amber and vanilla feel fresh and vibrant. it's a wintery perfume that would blend well with roaring fires, men smoking pipes, and polished wood paneling. i love it! enough said :-D

Rich and sophisticated treat
This chypre is a complex of fruity, sensual notes on me, with a long rich, spicy drydown. I agree with others who say you should spray the air and walk through the mist, because it can be powerful, especially in summer. Probably it's best as a winter scent to wear with leather and wool. It is very long-lasting and glamorous. A very worthwhile purchase from fragranceX.

This is the fourth perfume I have purchased from Fragrance X on a whim and I have not been let down yet. Very nice smelling perfume. More on the woodsy/spicy/earthy side. If you like Angel by Thierry Mugler, you will like this one.

Creamy, delicious, chocolate-cogniac delight with a thin woody-mouldy edge in the dry-down. Drives compliments, absolutely wonderful, the perfect winter smell. I cannot get enough of it, and the price at fragrancex is a true bargain.

I'm so dissapointed in this site..I'll never buy anything here!!!I have ordered these spirits in the beginning of January and not only that they went more month so when I have opened a box, I was horrified--The lid has been torn off also the liquid most part pour out so I had not 50ml,but 20ml....

Lovely Lactonic Fruity Floral
This is a great fruity oriental with a very sweet delicious peach/plum note on the verge of being too sweet, but nicely balanced by a raw patchouli and astringent resinous background. Last forever, drydown remains fruity with a vanillic tone. Beautiful bottle too!

I went out on a limb on this one not knowing what it smelled like but I'm glad that I took a chance. I spritzed this in the air then walked through it. The drydown was pure heaven. My husband came home from work and the firs thing he said to me was' you smell wonderful, what do you have on? This is a heavy fragrance, so my advice is to spritz the air, then walk through it. It last's all day. Would buy again.

I was wanting to try Mauboussin for ages, but it's very hard to find in the UK. When I saw it for a great price on FragranceX, I couldn't wait to place my order. It has not disappointed me. Mauboussin is rich, fruity, spicy, woody and entrancing. A word of warning though - a little goes a long way. I think over applying this one might give you a hangover! Oh, and the bottle is simply beautiful.
