The composition begins with refreshing top notes of aromatic davana, earthy celery seeds, citrusy mandarin, spicy thyme, sharp caraway, bright lemon and austere cedar wood. An exotic swirl of heart notes includes therapeutic eucalyptus, light laburnum, balsamic frankincense, lingering sandalwood and the core
scent of patchouli. Warmth holds the scent together with base notes of rare, marine ambergris, animalistic musk, rich tobacco, and complimentary sweet vanilla and benzoin.
The scent was released in 2005 by the Italian company Bois 1920. Real Patchouly captures the essence of patchouli, a green-leaf plant native to Asia that literally translates to green-leaf. Enzo Galardi was the nose on the scent. He is also the head of the company, as he brought it back to life in 2005 after the original company, founded by his grandfather Guido Galardi, closed in 1925. The scent comes in a sturdy bottle bearing the date the company was originally founded. All products are original, authentic name brands. We do not sell knockoffs or imitations.

Caution Knockoff
I have worn this fragrance exclusively for 16 years. This bottle I received is a knockoff and is nowhere close to the true fragrance.

Gorgeous
This is a magical scent. The patchouli is strong at first, but as it dries down, it melds with the amber-y, resinous, somewhat boozy base. So gorgeous. There's some sweetness which makes it wearable for a woman. I expected it to last longer and project more than it does but it's still one of my treasures.
