Elizabeth Arden was founded in 1910 by Florence Nightingale Graham, a Canadian who moved to New York with her brother and began her career in the E. R. Squibb laboratories and learned about skincare. She created this brand name, which also became her professional name. The company focused on skincare and cosmetics, then opened the first Red Door salon in Manhattan in 1910. The brand launched its first fragrance in 1936 and continues producing new releases. The company is now a subsidiary of Revlon. All products are original, authentic name brands. Not Strong Enough
I was surprise at the Sandalwood fragrance, it was strong enough and so I didn't like it's lasting ability.

I still have the remnants of a bottle of sandalwood which I received as a gift more than thirty years ago.i use it sparingly.it still holds the fragrance for quite a long while.is this unusualr for this type of product?

Restore old splash scent please.
I began using sandalwood in 1969. It was sold in splash only.It was the greatest fragrance on the planet.Finished my last bottle a year ago.This new spray does not smell the same and does not make the cut. Please search dilligently and find me the original authentic splash. I would be eternally grateful to you.Thanks a million. Ps I finished a year ago the last of six bottles that I purchased back in the seventies.

YSL pour Homme launched in 1971 smells very similar to this baby. Judging from the release dates of the two fragrances (EA Sandalwood in 1956) I'd say that YSL drew inspiration from this but has a longer scent life. I barely will pick up the sandalwood scent after an hour.

Sophisticated and subtle
I bought this fragrance as a gift. My son (and his female friends) love it. It can be worn all year round and for any occasion because it is not overpowering. A clean, classic, manly scent ... oriental yes ... but light.

rather unique scent, very classic!
This fragrance is foresure not for everybody. Its scent is very masculine, but with rather soft notes. The one who likes sandalwood will be very satisfied with this really apart fragrance. Some may call it a little too weak, but it made for the conservative kind of guy who does not need to shower in his eau de cologne.

sandalwood cologne is the best
My grandmother gave me a bottle of sandalwood cologne when I was 17. It was the only cologne I ever used. I got compliments daily for years. It was my signature cologne. [...] I found it in discount fragrance stores and still wear it today. Nothing better than a beautiful co-worker telling you how good you smell.
