Not what I thought
I blind bought this thinking it was the same as the 2005 Tommy Bahama. It has a synthetic watermelon opening and a light drydown that reminds me of a lesser version of Nautica Voyage. Not bad, but definitely a letdown.

Before I ran out, I used it all the time. My wife loves it as did my daughter, her friends, her friend's mothers. So, I guess most of the ladies.

Not the same as original.
I had this cologne years ago and loved the spicey scent. The bottle I received is not the same cologne. The smell is very different and it's extremely weak. Would not recommend this current product to anyone.

Excellent deal for a hard to find fragrance.
Very good, classic, underwhelming fragrance. Tommy Bahama's classic cologne is getting hard to find, but is a go-to for my elderly father. Thankfully we were able to find it here on fragrancex.com. The only reason it was not a five star review is it took about a week longer than stated for shipping, but that could have just been the USPS being slow.

This could be the start of an addiction. Way better than you could hope for the price. The way I smell it, the opening gives a nod to some of the petrol-y, smokey, and animalic qualities of Bulgari Black and Terre d'Hermes, quickly tempering them with a fair bit of sweetness a la Dirty English / Burberry London (possibly the best comparatives) but the real kicker is the dry down where it turns into a sweeter (perhaps the ginger?) and friendlier version of the smokey woods of Bois du Portugal. It's a fragrance that seems to know how it evolves and has a confidence about what it's doing at every stage. For it's delivery of that diverse range I'd rate it higher than any of the above. Nuf said. Hope I don't fall out of love with this too quickly coz I'm enjoying the ride. Seems to sit fairly close to my skin. Longevity is average - maybe 5-6 hours. Definitely a masculine fragrance. And in Aus at least, uncommon enough to invite closer inspection ;)

Smells good and can be used either summer or winter. It IS a cologne though, so it isn't as strong as an EDT and doesn't last very long. I like to use this one as an 'emergency' scent; I keep a small decant of it for whenever I need to smell good for the next hour or so.
