Wonderful fragrance!
I worked in fine fragrance at the time Egoiste launched. I loved the fragrance immediately, and bought it for my husband. It still smells wonderful after 30+ years. On behalf of females everywhere, thank you Chanel, for allowing us to introduce a fine masculine fragrance to our husband's and other special men in our lives.

This is the most overpriced garbage I have ever bought in my life. I have an extensive collection of colognes and this is by far not worthy of even going into the cabinet. This stuff smells like straight up mosquito spray. Nobody wants to smell like they just left camping in a tent in the Deepwoods for two weeks on a first date. Don't take a chance with this.

Sophisticated Classic!
A classic scent never goes out of style. This is that type of scent! I first noticed it as a signature scent of a colleague at the office some years ago. It evoked the kind of guy he was....sophisticated, professional, sexy, and confidant. I get the same reaction from others when I wear it now. Chanel is never cheap but it delivers!

I bought this only based on reviews from multiple sites. Lucky for me, I like it. I don't love it, but I really do like it enough to be happy with the purchase. I do like older formulations that are no longer easy too find. I was always curious about this scent, but couldn't find it to test drive it locally. Initial projection is nice, but quickly fades, with weak sillage. The scent lingers somewhat, but is hard to notice. The most prominent notes are of apple and cinnamon. Probably not for daily use, I would wear this during colder fall/winter special occasions.

Smells Great - just does not last on me
I do like the smell. It's floral, and woodsy, with some freshness -- it is unique. It might be my perception - does not seem to project for more than 1 hr after that it's a skin scent.

Very sexy.. not for everyone though. If you're into different spicy oriental stuff this is the one for you. By the way I am a female and I still enjoy it a lot, for me it's not overly masculine.

I brought my first bottle of this in the 90's. This is my second bottle. Brought it because I still like it and wanted a bottle in my collection. Might be a bit heavy for daytime, its got that distinct Chanel smell. IMO its better than the platinum version that replaced it in the UK.
